After investing a lot of money in your motorcycle, I’m sure you have been looking for ways to keep it in its best condition away from all the elements. Maybe there are times when you just keep your motorcycle in the garage and want to keep it safe and clean.
Whatever the reason may be, it’s always a good option to get your hands on the best motorcycle covers for a possession that is so close to your heart aka your motorcycle.
So, to help you out, I got down to trying out various motorcycle covers in search of the best motorcycle covers. I’m excited to share these with you so that your motorcycle can be stored and kept in top shape.
Why do you need a motorcycle cover?
If you have any doubts about whether you should be getting a motorcycle cover or not, let me make it clear for you. You must! If you are wondering why, let me make things a bit more clear for you.
Motorcycle covers protect your motorcycle’s key parts from the sun’s harmful UV rays. Snow, rain, and dust are harmful to various parts of your bike. Covers protect from condensation and ultimately rust and corrosion .
Best of the best Motorcycle covers
After putting many motorcycle covers to test for days, I have come up with the following best motorcycle covers:
Oxford Stormex Motorcycle Cover
This motorcycle cover just had to be on my list of favourites. It is reasonably priced. It is made up of quality materials that make it a must-have especially if you are one of those people who park their beautiful motorcycles outdoors. Moreover, the cover is both tough and durable. This means that it can withstand bad weather conditions i.e. protect your motorcycle no matter how heavy it rains or how high the temperature is. The Oxford Stormex also has a soft inner area that helps maintain your motorcycle’s paint job. It also keeps the sensitive parts of your motorcycle safe and clean.
However, I did find the cover to be a bit heavy compared to other covers. This isn’t that big of an issue if you aren’t planning to take the cover along with you for traveling.
This is not all that the cover has to offer. The cover has holes in the right places so that you can easily lock your motorcycle and protect it from thieves. It is also great for UV protection due to the presence of rubber tapping and UV color-fast.
If you have no choice but to park your bike outdoors, this is the cover for you
TourMaster Elite Motorcycle Cover
Just like the name suggests, this is a cover for elite bikers. It is made up of 300 Denier Carbolex® which is not only durable but also waterproof. The fact that the cover has double stitched and taped seams makes it good to use in the long term.
The cover also consists of aluminized heat panels which help protect the cover from the hottest parts of the bike. This means you can go for a ride on your motorcycle and then immediately after your ride, put the cover on it without worrying about any damage. The cover has great ventilation which allows your bike to breathe. I also discovered that it was easy to lock the motorcycle with this cover so that thieves couldn’t steal it even if they wanted to.
It comes in four sizes that can fit most bikes. Moreover, the cover also comes with a bag to put it inside of. We would recommend you get this if you don’t mind spending a few extra dollars.
Nelson Rigg Deluxe All Season Cover
This is one of those cheap covers that have just too many benefits. The Nelson Rigg Deluxe All-Season Cover is made up of Tri-Max Polyester that is water-resistant. The cover’s design includes a ventilation system. This means that the cover allows condensation to evaporate. It is breathable to such an extent that it protects the motorcycle from moisture.
Another great feature that I loved about this cover was that it comes in a free compression bag making it travel-friendly. The cover is easy to put on your motorcycle. It comes with a soft windshield liner. This helps protect the body of your motorcycle from scratching and hazing, keeping it in top-notch condition for many years to come.
Besides this, it also has a chic look to it and comes in multiple colors and various sizes. I mean honestly, I just can’t stop raving about how good it looks on my motorcycle and its benefits are just too many. However, this cover is more good for your motorcycle if you are planning to keep it in the garage or take it with you for long road travels. But, not the best option for you if you are planning to use it for every day outdoors.
Nelson Rigg Half Cover
The company Nelson Rigg has been in the motorcycle business for just too long to be ignored. Their products are without a doubt, some of the best in the market. This is why we just had to include a cover produced by them.
With a one-year warranty, Nelson-Rigg Half Cover is the ideal cover for anyone looking for a half cover for their motorcycle. The cover comes in three different sizes. It is made up of UV Protected nylon that blocks out most of the sun’s rays. This increases the longevity of your bike’s paint job and prevents it from getting heated up. It is also waterproof due to the presence of heat-sealed seams. This means that it is a great cover for all kinds of weather. Although looking at how thin the material is, I felt that the cover won’t last for many years to come. Thus, it is a good investment only if you are planning to use it for a short time or for 2 to 3 years.
This cover does come with its very own fanny pack making it extremely travel-friendly. Additionally, this cover is more of the universal kind and can be used for various kinds of motorcycles.
TourMaster Select Motorcycle Cover
Tour Master is a leading brand in gear for motorcycles. Their products are highly durable and so is their Tour Master Select Motorcycle Cover which is easy to use. It is made up of 150 Denier Carbolex and is double stitched. This makes the cover not only tough and good for everyday use but also water-resistant. The cover is soft for the windshield and tail section so that scratches can be prevented. It also has great ventilation and will protect your motorcycle from rust. Furthermore, the presence of aluminized heat panels in this cover allows it to be used on your motorcycle even if it is hot. I tried using the cover both indoors and outdoors and can say that is good for both purposes. Overall, I found this cover travel friendly and great for all types of weather.
From all the five best motorcycle covers I mentioned, Oxford Stormex Motorcycle Cover has to be my most favourite. I found that it has overall the best qualities at a great price point. So, whether you want a cover for your motorcycle that you park in the garage or out on the street, our options have covered the best ones for them all.
